Vadim: It has become a part of history already. In 1997 I was LUNACY band memeber, we were sending various promos and I realized that no one would really care about our band except me. Thus we started Coronach Records. Some bands we started with are doing fine now I mean FOREST STREAM, BY AUTUMN EMBRACED and ATRA MUSTUM of course with former LUNACY memeber Visionary on guitars.

Scorpio: The monicker?

Vadim: Do you remember CATHEDRAL's Forest Of Equilibrium? Funeral lamentations, doom/death/black - dark music side, that s what we wanted to emphasize.

Scorpio: What have you done recently and tell us about your nearest plans.

Vadim: We released our compilation and released AZAZELLO The Wings (together with Straless Records). I am not willing to forecast, the basic idea is that we shall be releasing professional outstanding musicians. Normally we pay much attention to soundquality.

Scorpio: Deep in detalis about your compilation.

Maxim: Well I think we are through with compilations. It is of no profit. It was good for the beginning and promotion but you can hardly earn enough money releasing compilations. We are eager to use our experience onto full scale releases right now.

Scorpio: Your CDs are not cheap at all (15 Euros), your site is in English, do you think to find your niche within European market?

Vadim: Yeah, in Russia CDs are damn cheap. Low prices bring low royalties you need to understand it. Definite thing hardly appear of nothing. That s why there s no metal on TV, low quality studios, etc. Remember the basics of market demand and supply. Fortunately some people come to realize the idea and follow European sceme. Right, we ve been more open to English speaking audience, still right now we are working on Russian version.

Scorpio: Is it hard to release CDs yourselves. How much do you invest?

Maxim: Let s call it a habitual job. We try to do our job properly. We ve abtained great experience and finally wish to release high quality CDs equal to Western analogues. It s a good goal I dare say. Well, investments depend upon sales. In case we start doing something we spare no efforts, time and money.

Scorpio: What does Coronach do besides releasing Cds?

Maxim: Nice question. We practice promotion within Moscow scene. I guess it s a nice work done for Russin bands.

Scorpio: Would care to point out problems of CIS metal business.

Maxim: I wish to speak about what we have met. Many bands and musicians just don t really know what they want. We are facing absence of producers, image makers, stylists. Such people don t work for low money. Vadim: The deep set problem is low investment interest. Metal business is based on pure enthusiasm. Therer are good bands in Russia, many of them have risen their sound quality. We are intending to break older stereotypes and to insert Western approach into metal business here.

Scorpio: Which bands do you distinguish?

Maxim: The most tallented of course. The ones good at studio and on stage. We ve been promoting FLESHBOMB, REST IN PAIN, SCRAMBLED DEFUNCTS FROM Moscow, AZAZELLO from Tinda, FACE X from Saint Petersburg, A.Kostarev Band, NYL, ENS COGITANS, FOREST STREAM, ATRA MUSTUM, ROSSOMAHAAR and more. There are some Moscow bands we are intending to start cooperation with.

Scorpio: Tell us about your own musical projects.

Maxim: Not any right now. It s too hard to manage several things properly at once. Still sooner or later we gonna answer your question.
