Sometimes it happens to me, that I liked album so much, that hands aren't going to write the review, and less and less thoughts about what to write. So happened this time. The whole week passed, since I've got post from russian label More Hate, and disk is everyday's guest of my CD-ROM. Let's begin.
I've seen for the first time so space cover picture on the album of death/black band. OK, what's inside? Inside is great music! Speed, technical, brutal, and at the same time interesting and melodic. Intro is so perturbing. Violin creates tense atmosphere, which transformed into powerful exploison of "Looking The Chaos Within".
There are also some slow pieces, and symphonic, which is made but not as by DIMMU BORGIR (who are black, but more pop black) with keys, but with guitars and vocal. Album is listening on one breath, what gladdens of course. Besides, there are not songs with lenght less that 6 minutes, that's great. Long songs are mini-masterpieces, which are unmonotonous, and in which few motives are present.
It's pleasant to see in eightpages-booklet faces, not spoitled by corpsepaint and so other make-up. And lyrics is without any "Hail Satan", "Worship Satan", "Satan our Master". Textes are in English and not little by length, the same as the songs. Themes - mistycally-philosophic. The only minus (as by many other bands from CIS) - not always rhyme is present.
I think if three funny penguins, droped in by warm streams to diametralic opposite Earthplace, called IMMORTAL, have phantasy, and instead of going to death metal jungles, they filled their songs with interesting motives, "Sons Of Northern Darkness" would be such (after pretty "Damned In Black"). To our proud - Norwegian frost cool (for us) frozes brains of Nordes and they are far from MIND ECLIPSE. Let all sorts of Norways and so other be petrified, Russians can and play better!
