It often happens to me that when I’m listening to a promo, I either drift off a little or enter a trance of the kind when you don’t remember what was in the beginning of the CD at all. In one word, some of the albums are apt to be used as lullabies to advanced children ‘cause the material is awfully monotonous. But this time the situation is different. In the beginning the album truly looked dead-level to me. Dead-level material, vocals, riffs, sounds like the hell of a long song. The light in the end of the tunnel was literally only in the end. The music was more pleasant, the guitars were improvising. In one word, the situation has changed and the album turned out to be classic brutal with a little zest (was it techno?), but nothing more. It could have been a much better CD, taking into account the perspective line-up (ex-DIMMU BORGIR drummer – Reno). But no, only an unoriginal, but still powerful death-metal.
