Finland is always known as the country with great quality metal bands. Many bands falled in the hearts of metal fans, releasing only their first demo. GLADENFOLD – new name on the Suomi stage, with the quality debut in digipack format. No, you won’t see the thick booklet, but nice layout gives the good impression. First tunes and drums of the first song in vein of TURISAS and ENSIFERUM drag us on the battlefield. Interesting feature is the power metal pieces and vocal parties a-la EDGUY and SONATA ARCTICA. Such good music we hear on the whole album. Sometimes musicians mix in their music folk motives, especially in the Finnish-lyrics composition – In Somno. The quality of the record is nice, the only “not good” thing: the drums are a little bit loud.

TURISAS named their style battle metal, so we’ll characterize the music of GLADENFOLD as power battle metal and wish the creativity growth, because band has good potential.
