DARKTHRONE

DARKTHRONE are a Norwegian metal band from Kolbotn, formed in 1987. Originally a death metal act, their trilogy of "Unholy Trinity" albums — "A Blaze in the Northern Sky", "Under a Funeral Moon", "Transilvanian Hunger" — defined the lo-fi, raw aesthetic of Norwegian black metal and became foundational documents of the genre. Later embracing a black/speed/heavy metal hybrid, they have continued to release acclaimed material on Peaceville Records. Fenriz and Nocturno Culto's DARKTHRONE are one of metal's most enduring and beloved institutions.
