DEVIN TOWNSEND is a Canadian progressive metal and rock solo artist and multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver, born 1972. One of heavy music's most prolific, versatile, and creatively restless figures, Townsend has produced a vast catalogue spanning the brutal SYL-era heaviness of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, the ambient spirituality of "Devlab", and the jubilant progressive metal of the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT.
