EMPYRIUM are a German symphonic folk/doom metal and neofolk band from Hendungen, formed in 1994. One of the earliest and most influential acts to fuse heavy metal with acoustic folk music and classical arrangements, they paved the way for subsequent neofolk and nature-focused metal acts. Signed to Prophecy Productions, their music immerses itself in nature, darkness, sadness, sorrow, and romantic melancholy with exceptional delicacy. After a long hiatus they reunited and continue to release beautiful, carefully crafted music.
