IMMOLATION are an American death metal band from Yonkers, New York, founded in 1988. One of the most distinctively atmospheric and technically sophisticated death metal bands in existence, their dense, dissonant guitar work — courtesy of Robert Vigna's unique playing style — creates claustrophobic, suffocating compositions loaded with anti-religious, atheist, and political content. Signed to Nuclear Blast, their catalogue is uniformly excellent and represents some of American death metal's most intellectually demanding work. IMMOLATION remain an active and vital force.
