RAKINUA

Progressive Metal / Dark Folk
🇦🇹Austria / 🇮🇹Italy / 🇩🇪Germany

Rakinua is a dark folk/progressive metal collective founded by singers and lyricists Velis Calyra and Madame Noctinebra, bringing together musicians from Austria, Italy, and Germany. The project fuses ritualistic Alpine pagan folk with progressive metal, drawing on the ceremonial pulse of acts like Heilung and Wardruna alongside the exploratory depth of Opeth, Porcupine Tree, and Anathema. Rakinua builds its atmosphere around ancient ceremonial sites and rites reaching back over three millennia, using history and myth as raw material for a sound that is equal parts ritual and metal.

The band's debut album, Esi Um Ninu – Heal Us, Mother, was released on May 29, 2026 via Dusktone Records. Rooted in ancient Alpine sacrificial rites, its concept follows a priestess sensing her followers turning away from the old ways, carried by powerful riffs, harsh vocals, intimate acoustic passages, and ethereal harmonies. For live performances, Rakinua expands into a full "Live Tribe," featuring Fabio D'Amore on bass, Sybell (Cristina Spadotto) and Alessandro Pedretti on guitars, Anna Eggersberger on harp, and Gabriele Boz on drums.
