SAMAEL are a Swiss metal band from Sion, formed in 1987. Beginning as a raw, satanic black metal act whose early albums — "Worship Him", "Blood Ritual" — are revered classics of the genre, they underwent a dramatic evolution toward electronic and industrial metal in the mid-1990s, pioneering the fusion of black metal with industrial music. Signed to Napalm Records, their diverse catalogue spans over three decades of adventurous, evolving music exploring space, spirituality, and discovery. SAMAEL remain active.
