TOMMY BOLIN was an American classic rock and hard rock guitarist from Sioux City, Iowa. A supremely gifted guitarist who played with ENERGY, ZEPHYR, the JAMES GANG, DEEP PURPLE, and as a solo artist, Bolin's brilliant career was cut tragically short by his death from a drug overdose in 1976 at the age of 25. His playing remains a touchstone of expressive, blues-influenced rock guitar.
