ALONE IN THE DARK – the ghosts will howl familiar

"Alone In The Dark", the upcoming horror movie based on the popular computer game series, will also feature an appropriate dark soundtrack. The first bands confirmed for it are modern Thrash metallers MNEMIC (Ghost), Sweden's most successful Melodic Death export IN FLAMES (The Quiet Place) and also Sweden-based Melodic Death giants SOILWORK (Departure Plan), all stemming from Nuclear Blast! Also under discussion for the OST are US thrashers DEATH ANGEL, Finland's top sellers NIGHTWISH, German Power Metal chart breakers EDGUY, US stars ANTHRAX and many more.

On March 24, 1979, MOTÖRHEAD released "Overkill" — their second studio album on Bronze Records and their commercial breakthrough. Produced by Jimmy Miller (who had worked with THE ROLLING STONES), the album reached #24 on the UK Albums Chart, a significant milestone for a band that had only been given a chance to record after exhausting their label's patience. "Overkill" captured MOTÖRHEAD at their most raw and powerful: the title track opened with Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor's blistering double bass drum intro — one of the most iconic drum performances in rock history — before Lemmy Kilmister's bass and vocals hit like a freight train. "No Class," "Damage Case," "Stay Clean," and "Metropolis" established MOTÖRHEAD's unique position at the intersection of punk speed and heavy metal power. No one sounded like them in 1979, and no one has quite matched them since.
