MORBID ANGEL's Trey Azagthoth was confirmed as guest host on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball which aired Saturday, June 12. With regular Headbanger's host Jamey Jasta on tour for the month, Azagthoth took over the greater part of the show - introducing videos (including some of his own favorite picks!), discussing MORBID ANGEL, and generally bringing light to the closed minds of the masses.

On March 24, 1979, MOTÖRHEAD released "Overkill" — their second studio album on Bronze Records and their commercial breakthrough. Produced by Jimmy Miller (who had worked with THE ROLLING STONES), the album reached #24 on the UK Albums Chart, a significant milestone for a band that had only been given a chance to record after exhausting their label's patience. "Overkill" captured MOTÖRHEAD at their most raw and powerful: the title track opened with Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor's blistering double bass drum intro — one of the most iconic drum performances in rock history — before Lemmy Kilmister's bass and vocals hit like a freight train. "No Class," "Damage Case," "Stay Clean," and "Metropolis" established MOTÖRHEAD's unique position at the intersection of punk speed and heavy metal power. No one sounded like them in 1979, and no one has quite matched them since.
