Ihsahn, frontman of the Norwegian black metal legends EMPEROR, who disbanded in 2001, is currently working on a solo album set for release in 2006. In addition to the vocalist himself, BORKNAGAR drummer Asgeir Mickelson is also involved in the project. According to Ihsahn, his new solo album will primarily be in the vein of progressive-experimental work, incorporating elements of all styles from classic metal to black metal. The album will draw upon all of the musician's accumulated experience and will sound the way a true example of the genre should sound in 2006, in his opinion: very fierce and energetic. Ihsahn is extremely pleased with the results and believes there will not be a single filler track on the album.
