BLACK LABEL SOCIETY have released "Name in Blood," the opening track from their upcoming twelfth studio album "Engines of Demolition," due March 27 via MNRK Heavy. The single is a riff-driven powerhouse that immediately establishes the album's aggressive tone, featuring Zakk Wylde's signature down-tuned guitar work layered with thick, crunching distortion and his distinctive pinch harmonics that have become synonymous with his playing style across three decades of heavy metal excellence.
The track joins previously released singles "Broken and Blind," "Lord Humungus," and "The Gallows," giving fans four distinct previews of the fifteen-track record. "Engines of Demolition" also features "Ozzy's Song," which Wylde calls "the most personally profound and heartfelt ballad" he has ever written, serving as a tender tribute to OZZY OSBOURNE, the man who gave the young guitarist from New Jersey his first major break in 1987. Their musical partnership across iconic albums like "No More Tears" and "Ozzmosis" helped establish Wylde as one of heavy metal's most celebrated guitarists, a reputation he has continued to build through BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's formidable catalog.
Wylde began writing the album in 2022 during downtime from the PANTERA celebration tours, where he filled the lead guitar role vacated by the late Dimebag Darrell. The creative process allowed him to channel the intensity of those monumental live performances back into BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's studio work, resulting in what early listeners describe as some of his most inspired writing in years. The album was recorded at Wylde's Black Vatican home studio, with the guitarist handling all production duties alongside engineer and longtime collaborator Eric Greenspan.
