Swedish heavy metal outfit BULLET are set to release "Kickstarter" on January 9 via Steamhammer Records — their first album in seven years since "Dust to Gold" (2018). The band, formed in Vanersborg in 2001 with the aim of playing traditional heavy metal inspired by the late 1970s and early 1980s New Wave of British Heavy Metal and classic European metal, return with a lineup featuring vocalist Dag "Hell" Hofer, guitarist Hampus Klang, bassist Gustav Hector, drummer Gustav Hjortsjo, and newest member Freddie Johansson on guitar.
The seven-year gap between albums is the longest in BULLET's career, and the band has used the time wisely. Early previews suggest "Kickstarter" represents a refinement of their no-frills approach rather than a dramatic reinvention, delivering the kind of fist-pumping, leather-and-denim heavy metal that made their 2008 album "Bite the Bullet" a cult classic in the European metal underground. The album promises raw, uncompromising heavy metal energy in the proud tradition of ACCEPT, JUDAS PRIEST, and SAXON.
BULLET occupy a vital niche in the Swedish metal scene, one that prioritizes authenticity and passion over trends and commercial calculation. While Sweden is more commonly associated with melodic death metal, black metal, and progressive metal, BULLET represent the country's deep-rooted love affair with classic heavy metal. Their live shows are renowned for their high-energy delivery and genuine connection with audiences. With the traditional heavy metal revival continuing to gain momentum worldwide, thanks to bands like ENFORCER, NIGHT DEMON, and HAUNT, BULLET's return could not be better timed to capture the enthusiasm of a growing global fanbase hungry for honest, riff-driven metal.
