LAMB OF GOD have dropped the ferocious title track from their upcoming twelfth studio album "Into Oblivion," arriving March 13 via Century Media and Epic Records. The track joins previously released singles "Sepsis" and "Parasocial Christ" in setting the tone for what vocalist Randy Blythe calls a record about "the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America." Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the 10-track album was recorded across multiple locations including Richmond, Virginia, Mark Morton's home studio, and Total Access studio in Redondo Beach, California.
The title track itself is a relentless five-minute assault that showcases LAMB OF GOD at their most technically precise and emotionally charged. Morton's razor-sharp riff work interweaves with Willie Adler's crushing rhythm patterns, while drummer Art Cruz delivers a thunderous performance that pushes the song forward with controlled fury. Blythe's vocal delivery oscillates between guttural roars and an almost spoken-word cadence during the bridge, lending the lyrics an unsettling urgency that has become a hallmark of the band's post-2020 material.
Guitar wizard Morton revealed in a recent interview that the album's writing process was more collaborative than any previous LAMB OF GOD record, with every member contributing riff ideas and structural concepts from the earliest demo stages. Bassist John Campbell's low-end tone on "Into Oblivion" is notably more prominent in the mix, giving the track a dense, suffocating heaviness that complements the lyrical themes of societal collapse. A North American tour with KUBLAI KHAN TX, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, and SANGUISUGABOGG launches March 17, with European festival appearances confirmed for the summer.
