The Metal Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 inductees ahead of the blowout bash on January 21 in West Hollywood. The honorees include Warren DeMartini (RATT), Tracii Guns (L.A. GUNS), Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.), Rikki Rockett (POISON), and Gilby Clarke (GUNS N' ROSES), along with MTV "Headbangers Ball" host Riki Rachtman. The ceremony will celebrate the legacy of the Sunset Strip and its pivotal role in shaping 1980s heavy metal culture.
The annual event has become a key gathering for metal legends and fans, recognizing artists who have made lasting contributions to the genre. The evening will feature live performances and special presentations from past inductees and surprise guests. This year's class represents a deliberate focus on the Sunset Strip scene that transformed Los Angeles into the epicenter of glam metal and hard rock during the mid-1980s, when clubs like the Whisky a Go Go, the Troubadour, and the Rainbow Bar and Grill served as launching pads for bands that would go on to sell tens of millions of records worldwide.
DeMartini's fluid, blues-inflected lead work with RATT helped define the guitar sound of the era, while Tracii Guns co-founded both L.A. GUNS and the original lineup of GUNS N' ROSES, making him one of the scene's most influential figures. Chris Holmes, whose pool scene in the documentary "The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years" remains one of heavy metal's most iconic film moments, anchored W.A.S.P.'s savage guitar attack throughout their commercial peak. Rikki Rockett's showmanship behind the kit with POISON brought flash and energy to the genre, while Gilby Clarke's tenure in GUNS N' ROSES during the "Use Your Illusion" touring era cemented his place in rock history. Rachtman's inclusion recognizes the crucial role MTV's "Headbangers Ball" played in bringing metal to mainstream audiences. Tickets for the ceremony are available through the Metal Hall of Fame website.
