Brazilian thrash pioneers SEPULTURA have announced "The Cloud Of Unknowing" as the title of their farewell EP, which will be offered as an exclusive vinyl pressing to VIP ticket holders on the North American leg of their "Celebrating Life Through Death" tour. The four-track EP features recently recorded material with their newest drummer Greyson Nekrutman and represents the final studio recordings in SEPULTURA's 40-plus-year history.
The recording was born of spontaneity — the band entered a Miami studio after performing on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise in January 2025 and laid down four tracks in a burst of creative energy. The resulting EP is being described as one of SEPULTURA's most diverse and emotionally resonant releases, spanning the full spectrum of their musical evolution from their raw thrash beginnings through their experimental and groove metal phases.
The tracklist includes "All Souls Rising," "Beyond the Dream," "Sacred Books," and "The Place," the latter of which has been shared as the lead track with an accompanying lyric video. "The Place" showcases a band still pushing boundaries even in their final creative chapter, blending aggressive riffing with atmospheric textures that speak to decades of musical growth.
A broader commercial release via Nuclear Blast is planned for April 24, available in multiple vinyl variants including Oxblood, Transparent Petrol (Nuclear Blast exclusive), Crystal Clear, and Transparent Red (band exclusive), with all LP formats including a CD of the EP in a card wallet. However, the initial VIP-exclusive pressings are expected to become highly sought-after collector's items.
SEPULTURA's farewell tour has been one of the most emotional concert experiences in recent heavy metal history, with founding guitarist Andreas Kisser and vocalist Derrick Green leading the current lineup through a career-spanning celebration. The band's final concert is planned for late 2026 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, bringing one of South America's most important metal legacies to a close in their hometown.
The North American farewell leg will also feature EXODUS and BIOHAZARD as support, creating a package that celebrates the diversity and power of extreme music.
