Dutch progressive metal pioneers TEXTURES have released "At The Edge Of Winter," their latest single from the upcoming album "Genotype," due January 23 via Kscope. The track features a captivating guest vocal performance by Charlotte Wessels, the former DELAIN frontwoman who has established herself as one of the most versatile and in-demand vocalists in European metal. Her ethereal tones interweave with the band's signature blend of atmospheric synths, intricate sound design and polyrhythmic grooves, creating a lush sonic tapestry anchored by massive riffs and soaring vocal lines.

"Genotype" marks the band's first album in a decade, serving as a conceptual counterpart to 2016's critically acclaimed "Phenotype." Together, the two albums form a complete artistic statement about the interplay between genetic blueprint and observable expression — concepts borrowed from biology that TEXTURES use as metaphors for the relationship between a band's core identity and its evolving sound. The lengthy gap between releases was marked by lineup changes, personal challenges and a period of creative reassessment that ultimately strengthened the band's resolve.

Mixed by Forrester Savell, the Australian producer known for his work with KARNIVOOL, DEAD LETTER CIRCUS and ANIMALS AS LEADERS, the eight-track album distills the very DNA of TEXTURES into their most focused and emotionally resonant work. Savell's knack for balancing atmospheric depth with rhythmic precision makes him an ideal collaborator for a band whose music operates at the intersection of progressive complexity and visceral impact.

The band will tour Europe in support of the release alongside JINJER, pairing two of progressive metal's most forward-thinking acts on a bill that promises to be one of the early highlights of the 2026 touring calendar.
