Canadian hard rock legends TRIUMPH have confirmed that both drummer Gil Moore and guitarist Rik Emmett will be playing full sets at every date on their upcoming 2026 tour. Moore stated that he and Emmett "will be playing all the way through every show," putting to rest fan speculation about limited appearances. The tour marks a significant moment for TRIUMPH, whose classic lineup reunions have been rare events over the past decades.
Known for anthems like "Lay It On The Line," "Magic Power," and "Fight The Good Fight," TRIUMPH were one of Canada's biggest rock acts of the 1980s, regularly selling out arenas across North America and competing with their compatriots RUSH for the title of Canada's premier power trio. The band's combination of Moore's powerful vocals and drumming, Emmett's virtuosic guitar work, and bassist Mike Levine's keyboard-augmented arrangements created a sound that was uniquely their own — heavier than most mainstream rock but more melodic than the emerging thrash scene.
The confirmation that both Moore and Emmett will perform complete sets addresses concerns that had circulated among fans after previous reunion events where health issues limited participation. Moore, who underwent significant health challenges in recent years, assured fans that he has been working with a dedicated training regimen to prepare for the physical demands of a full tour. Emmett, who has maintained an active solo career blending jazz, classical, and rock guitar, expressed enthusiasm about returning to the heavier material. "There is something about playing those TRIUMPH songs with Gil that cannot be replicated," Emmett said. "The energy between us is still there after all these years." Tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, with promoters hinting at dates across Canada and the northern United States through the summer months.
