Danish progressive metal outfit VOLA have confirmed their 2026 touring plans will continue despite losing nearly all of their gear, merchandise, vinyl inventory, and custom-built electronic systems in a devastating warehouse fire at a Copenhagen storage facility. The blaze, which tore through the building in late 2025, caused total losses estimated at approximately 164,000 euros, threatening to derail a band that had been steadily building momentum in the progressive metal scene with critically acclaimed releases.

The fire destroyed irreplaceable items including custom-built MIDI controllers and electronic rigs that are integral to VOLA's distinctive sound — a sophisticated blend of djent-influenced progressive metal with atmospheric electronic textures and clean vocal melodies. The band's gear setup is notably complex, requiring specialized equipment that cannot simply be replaced off the shelf at a music store.

In response to the catastrophe, VOLA launched a GoFundMe campaign that quickly demonstrated the depth of their fanbase's devotion. The fundraiser raised over 882,000 Danish krone, equivalent to approximately 118,000 euros, providing the financial foundation for the band to begin rebuilding their touring infrastructure from scratch. Donations poured in from fans across Europe, North America, and beyond, with many contributors leaving heartfelt messages of support and encouragement alongside their contributions.

VOLA expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming fan response, noting that the outpouring of generosity has only strengthened their determination to deliver planned shows without compromise. The band, whose albums "Witness" and "Friend of a Phantom" have earned critical acclaim for pushing the boundaries of modern progressive metal, vowed that the fire would not define their 2026 chapter but rather serve as a testament to resilience.

With the rebuilt equipment gradually coming together, VOLA are on track to honor their festival commitments and headlining dates throughout the year. The situation has become a powerful testament to the resilience of independent metal acts and the extraordinary power of community support in keeping art alive through adversity.
