Download Festival 2026 has confirmed an expanded five-day format running June 10-14 at the legendary Donington Park, the spiritual home of British rock and metal festivals. The extension from the traditional three-day weekend to a full five days reflects both the festival's growing ambitions and the unprecedented demand for tickets that has characterized the 2026 festival season across Europe.
The headliner lineup reads like a who's who of mainstream heavy music: LIMP BIZKIT take the top slot on Friday, riding a wave of renewed cultural relevance; GUNS N' ROSES bring their arena-filling firepower to Saturday; and LINKIN PARK, now fronted by Emily Armstrong following the tragic passing of Chester Bennington, close the festival on Sunday in what promises to be one of the most emotionally charged performances of the year.
The undercard is equally stacked, with over 100 acts spread across multiple stages. Confirmed performers include BABYMETAL, TRIVIUM, HALESTORM, ELECTRIC CALLBOY, PENDULUM, BAD OMENS, and TOM MORELLO, representing a deliberately broad spectrum from traditional metal to electronic rock and everything in between. Recent wave additions include A DAY TO REMEMBER, CREEPER, and DAUGHTRY, further diversifying the bill.
The five-day format allows Download to accommodate more niche subgenres alongside the mainstream headliners, with dedicated stages for extreme metal, punk and hardcore, and emerging artists. Ticket sales have reflected the massive demand, with weekend camping passes selling at a pace that outstrips previous years. Donington Park's infrastructure has been upgraded to handle the extended timeframe, including expanded camping areas, additional food vendors, and improved facilities that address longstanding attendee complaints.
