Legendary New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band MORE have shared full details of their upcoming album "Destructor," their long-awaited third full-length due March 6. The album carries extraordinary historical significance as the final production by the late Chris Tsangarides, the iconic producer whose fingerprints are on some of heavy metal's most important recordings — from JUDAS PRIEST's "Painkiller" and "Sad Wings Of Destiny" to KING DIAMOND's "Abigail," HELLOWEEN's "Keeper Of The Seven Keys," and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's "Rising Force."
The final mix of "Destructor" was delivered from Tsangarides' legendary Ecology Rooms studio facility shortly before his passing in January 2018. The fact that these recordings sat unreleased for nearly a decade before finding their way to daylight adds a bittersweet dimension to the album — it is simultaneously a celebration of new music and a memorial to one of heavy metal's most important behind-the-scenes figures. Tsangarides' production style, characterized by warm analog tones and a knack for capturing the live energy of a band in the studio, is reportedly on full display throughout "Destructor."
MORE have formed their own independent label, Warhead Music LLP, for the worldwide release of the album, with digital distribution handled by The Orchard. A limited-edition signed CD digipack is available exclusively via the band's online store, and early pre-orders have reportedly been strong, driven by both the band's dedicated NWOBHM fanbase and the historical significance of Tsangarides' final work.
The lead single "Spirits Of War" has already become something of a live anthem, with audiences instinctively singing along to its unmistakable "Valhalla" chorus chant during the band's recent appearances. For fans of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, "Destructor" represents not just a new album but a time capsule — a direct connection to the production standards and sonic values that defined one of metal's most important eras.
