Jeff Waters, the Canadian guitarist, vocalist, and sole constant behind ANNIHILATOR, releases the third album from his side project AMERIKAN KAOS tomorrow, March 31, via Metal Department. The Sheeple Swing is a politically charged record that finds Waters taking aim at media manipulation, tribalism, and what he calls "the commodification of outrage."
ANNIHILATOR fans will recognize the guitar work immediately — Waters' tone and technique are unmistakable, combining his trademark precision with a slightly more groove-oriented approach than his main band. But AMERIKAN KAOS allows him greater lyrical freedom, and The Sheeple Swing uses that space aggressively.
A notable guest appearance comes from Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), who contributes to one of the album's mid-section tracks. White-Gluz's distinctive vocal blend of melodic clarity and aggressive force pairs well with Waters' riff-driven approach.
ANNIHILATOR, meanwhile, remain active with their own touring and recording schedule. Waters has maintained a remarkably consistent output across both projects, and the AMERIKAN KAOS albums serve as a pressure valve for ideas and themes that sit slightly outside ANNIHILATOR's territory.
The Sheeple Swing runs 10 tracks and clocks in at approximately 47 minutes. It is available for pre-order now and arrives on all platforms tomorrow, March 31.
