ANGRA have officially ended their hiatus and announced a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark album "Holy Land," originally released in 1996. The Brazilian power metal legends are returning with a historic reunion lineup that brings together some of the most iconic names in the band's storied history.
The lineup features founding guitarist Rafael Bittencourt and bassist Felipe Andreoli joined by guitar virtuoso Kiko Loureiro, drummer Aquiles Priester, and vocalist Edu Falaschi. The reunion of these musicians under the ANGRA banner is significant — Loureiro, who has spent recent years as MEGADETH's guitarist, was a founding member of ANGRA and a driving force behind the band's classic era. Priester and Falaschi each brought their own brilliance to the band during different periods.
Alírio Netto will handle vocal duties for the band's headline set at Bangers Open Air on April 26, with additional dates confirmed for April 29 and May 22 in Brazil, and a European date on September 23 at the Olympia in Paris.
"After a period of pause, reflection, and reconnecting with their roots," the band stated in their announcement, signaling that the hiatus — which lasted less than a year — was a necessary reset rather than a sign of deeper fractures.
"Holy Land" is widely regarded as one of the most ambitious and accomplished albums in power metal history. Its fusion of progressive metal, Brazilian folk music, and symphonic grandeur broke new ground when it was released, and its influence continues to resonate across the genre three decades later. A tour dedicated to celebrating this masterpiece with the musicians who helped define ANGRA's sound is the kind of event that transcends ordinary concert promotion.
More dates are expected to be announced as the tour takes shape, with fans worldwide hoping for expanded routing beyond Brazil and France.
