ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante has confirmed that the band's highly anticipated follow-up to For All Kings (2016) has been pushed back to September 2026, extending what has already become a decade-long gap between studio albums.

In an interview published this week, Benante attributed the delay to a recent management change, stressing that it was "100% a business and logistics issue, not a creative one." He was enthusiastic about the material, describing the album as having "a more grown-up kind of sound" while still delivering the aggressive thrash the band is known for.

The record was tracked at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Los Angeles with producer Jay Ruston, who helmed both Worship Music (2011) and For All Kings — a consistent collaboration that should maintain sonic continuity for fans. Benante confirmed the first single and its accompanying music video are planned for a May release.

ANTHRAX, one of the "Big Four" of American thrash metal alongside METALLICA, SLAYER, and MEGADETH, last released a studio album in 2016. The decade between records makes this one of the most awaited releases in thrash metal. Benante was also bullish about a major touring cycle to follow, noting potential support slots on MEGADETH's announced farewell tour.
