The two sold-out reunion shows CHILDREN OF BODOM performed at Tavastia Club in Helsinki on February 26–27 — their first performances since Alexi Laiho's death in January 2021 — continued to generate widespread coverage through the first half of March. The shows, billed as "A Celebration of Music," were performed with former bandmembers and a guest vocalist in place of Laiho, and were widely praised as a respectful and emotionally charged tribute.
The performances raised questions in the metal community about the future of the CHILDREN OF BODOM name, and whether the Helsinki shows would lead to additional commemoration events or a more permanent continuation of some form.
