CRYSTAL LAKE have parted ways with vocalist John Robert Centorrino, the band announced on March 31. Both parties described the split as entirely amicable, with Centorrino stepping away to prioritize fatherhood and family life.
The band issued a statement: "John has been an incredible part of CRYSTAL LAKE, and we are so grateful for everything he brought to the band. He has made the decision to step away to focus on his growing family, and we fully support and respect that decision. His time with us has meant everything."
Centorrino, who joined the Japanese metalcore outfit in 2023, added his own message to fans: "My family is growing, and I want to be present for every moment of it. Being on the road for months at a time is something I can no longer do with a clear conscience. I love CRYSTAL LAKE and everyone in it — this was not an easy decision, but it is the right one for me and my family."
CRYSTAL LAKE confirmed they will not be cancelling any currently scheduled shows. The band will bring in special guest vocalists to cover all confirmed dates while the search for a permanent front person gets underway. Known for their aggressive metalcore sound with a global fanbase — particularly strong in the U.S. and Europe despite being based in Japan — CRYSTAL LAKE remain one of the most active touring bands in the genre.
No timeline has been given for when a permanent vocalist will be announced.
