Texas death metal powerhouse FROZEN SOUL have unleashed "Invoke War," a punishing new single featuring guest vocals from MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn, accompanied by an official music video directed by Brendan McGowan. The track is lifted from the band's upcoming third album 'No Place of Warmth', due May 8 via Century Media Records.
Thematically, "Invoke War" is an anthem about the internal battle people face when confronting loss, grief, guilt, and depression — written as a tribute to frontman Chad Green's departed brother. Flynn's contribution adds a visceral, battle-hardened intensity that perfectly complements FROZEN SOUL's ice-cold, mid-paced death metal assault.
'No Place of Warmth' features an impressive roster of guest collaborators: alongside Flynn, the album sees Gerard Way of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE appearing on the title track, and death metal newcomers SANGUISUGABOGG contributing to "Dreadnought." Producer Josh Schroeder — known for his work with LORNA SHORE — handled recording and mixing duties.
FROZEN SOUL vocalist Chad Green stated: "This song is about fighting through the darkness that grief puts you in. Robb understood that immediately and brought exactly the ferocity the track needed."
Robb Flynn added: "I've been watching FROZEN SOUL for years. When they asked me to be part of this, I listened to the track and said yes on the spot. It's heavy, it's real, and it means something."
'No Place of Warmth' is available for pre-order now.
