FROZEN SOUL have released the music video for "Invoke War," a new track from their forthcoming album No Place of Warmth, due May 8 via Century Media Records. The song features a guest vocal appearance from MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn, who tears through a verse with the same ferocity he brought to Burn My Eyes over three decades ago.
The track is a bone-crushing slab of Texas death metal — downtuned guitars, relentless blast beats, and the cavernous, bowels-of-hell vocals that have defined FROZEN SOUL since their 2021 debut Crypt of Ice. Flynn's contribution is seamlessly woven into the track's structure, adding a thrash-inflected dimension without breaking the song's death metal core.
No Place of Warmth features additional guest appearances from Gerard Way of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE on the title track, and SANGUISUGABOGG on the cut "Dreadnought." The breadth of collaborators reflects growing recognition of FROZEN SOUL as one of the most exciting bands in current death metal.
Vocalist Chad Green stated: "Having Robb on this track is insane to us. MACHINE HEAD is a massive influence on everything we do, and his voice on 'Invoke War' brings a completely different energy. It felt right."
The video for "Invoke War" was shot in a bleak industrial setting and directed by long-time collaborator James Gist. Pre-orders for No Place of Warmth are now live.
