GAEREA Deliver Suffocating New Album Loss via Century Media

Portuguese extreme metal outfit GAEREA have delivered one of the most anticipated releases of early 2026 with their new album Loss, out now via Century Media Records. Known for theatrical live performances featuring faceless, robed figures and a relentlessly bleak black metal sound, GAEREA have built a fierce international following with each release.

Loss continues the thematic darkness of their previous records — Limbo (2021) and Mirage (2022) — while pushing the band's compositional ambition to new heights. Where Mirage balanced aggression with atmospheric sprawl, Loss cuts deeper and leaves less room to breathe: this is an album that suffocates you with intent. The production is cavernous and deliberate, each riff landing with surgical weight.

Recorded and produced by the band themselves, Loss is a fully self-determined statement. It speaks to grief, absence, and the spaces left behind — universal themes rendered in the most extreme musical language available.

GAEREA are expected to embark on extensive European touring in support of the album throughout spring and summer 2026. Loss is available now at centurymedia.com.
