IMMOLATION Prepare to Release 'Descent' on April 10 — New Single 'Attrition' Streaming Now

IMMOLATION are ten days out from releasing Descent, their twelfth studio album, due April 10 via Nuclear Blast Records — and the final piece of pre-release material, the single "Attrition," is streaming everywhere now.

The track continues the album's dark narrative thread: slow-building, heavy, and suffused with the unique dissonant guitar architecture that guitarist Robert Vigna has refined across four decades. While "Adversary," the album's lead single released in January, leaned into more direct forward momentum, "Attrition" is patient and monolithic, building to a crushing midpoint before collapsing into controlled chaos.

Descent is Immolation's first album following their 2022 release Acts of God, which many critics considered a late-career peak. The new record was produced with sound engineer Paul Orofino at Millbrook Sound Studios in New York — the same studio where the band recorded their foundational early work. The 10-track record features artwork by Eliran Kantor, whose work has graced albums by Testament, Helloween, and Sepultura.

Immolation will support the album with a major North American run as part of BEHEMOTH's Godless IV 2026 Tour alongside Deicide and Rotting Christ, kicking off in April. The band also toured Europe in February with Mayhem and Marduk on the "Death Over Europe" trek.

Descent is available for pre-order now via Nuclear Blast.
