Japanese heavy metal legends LOUDNESS have kicked off Chapter 2 of their 45th Anniversary Tour with a triumphant three-night stand at the Hell's Heroes festival in Houston, Texas, running March 19-21. The festival appearance marks the beginning of a new leg of touring that celebrates one of heavy metal's most enduring and influential acts from outside the Western world.

Founded in Osaka in 1981 by virtuoso guitarist Akira Takasaki, LOUDNESS were among the first Japanese metal bands to achieve international recognition, breaking through in the United States with their 1985 album "Thunder in the East" and its single "Crazy Nights". Four decades and over thirty studio albums later, Takasaki's lightning-fast fretwork and the band's unwavering commitment to classic heavy metal remain as potent as ever.

Following the Hell's Heroes engagement, LOUDNESS continue their US swing with dates in San Antonio on March 22, a stop at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood on March 24, and San Juan Capistrano on March 25. The tour will then extend through Japan and Europe, with dates running through July 6.

The 45th Anniversary Tour has been a celebration not just of longevity but of lasting impact. LOUDNESS paved the way for subsequent generations of Japanese metal bands and demonstrated that heavy metal's power transcends language and geography. Their influence can be heard in everything from the technical metal scene in Japan to the broader global appreciation for guitar virtuosity in heavy music.

For fans who have followed the band since their 1980s breakthrough or those discovering them for the first time, the current tour offers a chance to witness a living legend of heavy metal performing with the fire and precision that made them pioneers.
