MEGADETH continue to expand the scope of their farewell tour with the announcement of a Latin American and Mexico leg. The run kicks off April 23 in Lima, Peru and wraps up May 13 in Guadalajara, Mexico, giving fans across the region one last chance to witness one of thrash metal's "Big Four" in action.

The farewell tour was first announced on August 14, 2025 by frontman and founder Dave Mustaine. Despite the "farewell" label, Mustaine has indicated he plans to continue touring for "another three to five years," suggesting this will be a lengthy goodbye rather than a sudden departure.

The band's Canadian leg has already been completed, running from February 15 in Victoria through March 6 in Quebec City, with support from fellow thrash legends ANTHRAX and EXODUS. European dates are also on the calendar, including a high-profile opening slot for IRON MAIDEN in Hannover on June 2.

Adding weight to the tour is the band's final self-titled album, released January 23. The record includes a notable cover of METALLICA's "Ride the Lightning," a track Mustaine co-wrote during his brief tenure with METALLICA before being fired in 1983. The inclusion of the song adds a poignant full-circle moment to the farewell proceedings.

MEGADETH's four-decade career has produced some of thrash metal's most iconic albums, including "Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?", "Rust in Peace", and "Countdown to Extinction." The Latin American dates ensure that fans worldwide will have the opportunity to celebrate this remarkable legacy before the final curtain falls.
