MORTIIS has announced "Ghosts of Europa," a new album six years in the making, set for release on June 26 via Prophecy Productions. The record features an impressive roster of guest collaborators drawn from across the spectrum of heavy and electronic music, marking what is being described as the most expansive and unguarded work of his career.

The album comprises eight tracks crafted between 2020 and 2026, a lengthy gestation period that allowed the Norwegian dark electronic and industrial pioneer — and former EMPEROR bassist — to assemble an extraordinary cast of contributors. Sarah Jezebel Deva, known for her extensive work with CRADLE OF FILTH, appears on five of the eight tracks, her haunting vocals adding ethereal layers to the album's dark tapestry. Christopher Amott of ARCH ENEMY contributes a guitar solo to "Tribes of Dystopia," while Thorsten Quaeschning of electronic legends TANGERINE DREAM provides synthesizer work on the title track.

The production pedigree is equally formidable. "Ghosts of Europa" was mixed by Sean Beavan, whose engineering and mixing credits include landmark records by NINE INCH NAILS, SLAYER, and SYSTEM OF A DOWN. Beavan's involvement suggests a meticulous sonic polish that matches the album's ambitious scope.

The title track is streaming now accompanied by a music video, offering a first window into the album's sonic world. MORTIIS has always operated at the intersection of dark ambient, industrial, and metal, and "Ghosts of Europa" appears to push those boundaries further than ever.

For listeners who have followed MORTIIS from his early dungeon synth works through his industrial transformation, this album represents a convergence of all his artistic impulses. The combination of extreme metal luminaries, electronic visionaries, and a world-class mixing engineer positions "Ghosts of Europa" as one of the most intriguing cross-genre releases of 2026.
