Swedish melodic death metal veterans SOILWORK have announced a series of special performances celebrating the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed 2015 album "The Ride Majestic," considered by many fans and critics to be the Helsingborg band's finest achievement and one of the definitive melodic death metal albums of the 2010s. The performances, announced for September 2026, will include headline shows in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki, and selected dates in Germany and the UK where the album will be performed in its entirety.
Vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid confirmed in the announcement that the anniversary shows will feature several elements designed to honor the album's decade of impact: the original "Ride Majestic" lineup (including several members who have since departed the band) has been invited to participate, with founding guitarist Peter Wichers — who rejoined SOILWORK for the album and its touring cycle before leaving again — already confirmed to take part in at least the Stockholm and Gothenburg dates.
The "Ride Majestic" tour cycle in 2015–2016 was a significant moment for SOILWORK, as it marked the commercial and critical high point of a career that began in 1995 and had seen significant lineup turbulence in the preceding years. The album's combination of melodic death metal aggression, atmospheric keyboards, and Strid's extraordinary versatile vocal performance — spanning death growls, melodic clean passages, and everything between — was praised as a mature artistic statement. A limited anniversary edition of the album on colored vinyl is also expected.
