BRING ME THE HORIZON has announced a 20th-anniversary re-recording of their debut album "Count Your Blessings", due July 10. Titled "Count Your Blessings | Repented", the project is described by the band as a "reactivation" and "recontextualization" of the 2006 deathcore release.
Frontman Oli Sykes and guitarist Lee Malia worked with mixer Buster Odeholm on the record, described as "reborn, sharper, heavier, and more vital than ever." The reworked version also includes the track "Liquor & Lost Love" under its original working title "Dragon Slaying".
BRING ME THE HORIZON will perform the album in its entirety on July 10 at Manchester's B.E.C. Arena as part of the Outbreak festival. The event — "Outbreak Presents: Count Your Blessings | Repented" — will also feature STATIC DRESS, ROLO TOMASSI, DYING WISH, HERIOT, CAR UNDERWATER, and STILL IN LOVE.
Ticket pre-sale begins today for fans who pre-order the album; general sale starts Friday, April 17 at 10 a.m. GMT.
"Count Your Blessings", released in 2006 when the Sheffield band was still a deathcore act, became a cult classic that influenced a generation of heavy music fans. The re-recording aims to reframe the album within the band's current artistic vision rather than simply look back. BRING ME THE HORIZON has since sold over 6.6 million albums worldwide and accumulated more than 9.4 billion global streams.
