CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Release 'Good God / Baad Man' — Sludge Metal's Finest Return April 3

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's new album 'Good God / Baad Man' arrives April 3 via Nuclear Blast Records. After years of touring on the back of their celebrated back catalog and the 2014 self-titled return, COC deliver a statement that strips things down and trusts the riff — a decidedly old-school approach in the best possible sense.

The album sits at the crossroads of the band's two defining eras: the groove-laden Southern metal of 'Deliverance' and 'Wiseblood', and the rawer, more aggressive energy of their early sludge/hardcore period. Vocalist and guitarist Pepper Keenan — whose return to COC was one of 2014's most celebrated metal reunions — sounds as commanding as ever, his voice carrying that unmistakable gravelled authority.

For those who've followed COC since the North Carolina underground scene of the 1980s, the album's title signals intent — there's nothing ambiguous about 'Good God / Baad Man'. This is COC trusting the power of their decades of combined experience, channeling it into a focused, no-frills heavy record that doesn't need to reinvent itself.

Note: We previously covered COC's addition of UK and Spain dates to their European summer tour. 'Good God / Baad Man' is a separate, major event — the album itself drops this Friday.

'Good God / Baad Man' is available for pre-order now via Nuclear Blast Records.
