Norwegian Viking metal veterans EINHERJER have announced their tenth studio album, Lifeblood, set for release on June 19, 2026 via By Norse Music. To mark the announcement, the band has released the first single, "Bloodborn," now available on all major streaming platforms.

Formed in 1993 in Haugesund, Norway, EINHERJER have been one of the pillars of Viking and Norse extreme metal for over three decades. Lifeblood finds the group reflecting on belonging, heritage, and roots — both as individuals and as a creative force that has endured through the ever-shifting landscape of extreme metal.

Founding vocalist and guitarist FRODE GLESNES explained the emotional core behind "Bloodborn": "In the lyrics I wanted to explore that hidden fire beneath the skin — the beast that sleeps inside every man, waiting for the moment when storms rise and control slips away."

The album serves as a meditation on what has shaped EINHERJER across their 30-plus year journey. Lifeblood follows a celebrated discography that includes landmarks such as Dragons Of The North, Odin Owns Ye All, and North Star — the latter two nominated for Norway's prestigious Spellemannsprisen award.

The current EINHERJER lineup features GLESNES on vocals, guitar, and bass; GERHARD STORESUND on drums and keys; OLE SØNSTABØ on lead guitar; and TOM ENGE on guitar and clean vocals. Pre-orders for Lifeblood are expected to open soon via By Norse Music.
