Swedish progressive metal veterans EVERGREY have officially confirmed guitarist Stephen Platt — known for his work with fellow Gothenburg act SCAR SYMMETRY — as a permanent, full-time member of the band. Platt had been performing as a live guitarist with EVERGREY since late 2025, and his addition now becomes official.
The band commented: "We played a lot of shows with Stephen Platt already. He's an incredibly lovely human being on top of being a brilliant guitar player. We couldn't be happier to have him join us for real."
Platt himself added: "I'm so happy to become the new guitarist of EVERGREY. I've been a fan of the band for a long time now and am extremely honored to have been asked by this group of incredible musicians and people. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds."
Platt takes the spot vacated by Henrik Danhage, who departed after 21 years with the band earlier this month following a mutual decision between both parties.
The lineup announcement arrives at an important moment — EVERGREY are set to release their fifteenth studio album, Architects Of A New Weave, on June 5, 2026 via Napalm Records. The LP was produced by vocalist Tom S. Englund and Vikram Shankar, with mixing handled by Adam "Nolly" Getgood. The band will also take the stage as special guests of IRON MAIDEN on two dates of the "Run For Your Lives" world tour just days after the album drops.
