INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL 2026 opens today in Oslo, Norway, running April 2 through 5 across multiple stages at Rockefeller Music Hall and John Dee. The festival's 2026 edition brings together over 40 bands from across the spectrum of extreme metal, cementing its position as Norway's — and one of Europe's — most prestigious gatherings of the genre.

This year's lineup reads as a comprehensive survey of extreme metal in its many forms: MAYHEM, DEICIDE, ENSLAVED, CULT OF LUNA, PRIMORDIAL, SAMAEL, THE KOVENANT, KANONENFIEBER, TORMENTOR, and OLD MAN'S CHILD represent the headlining tier, while the full bill extends to 1914, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT, SVARTTJERN, MØL, GROZA, SADISTIC INTENT, HIEROPHANT, HULDER, INCANTATION, PERCHTA, and many more.

First staged in 1997, INFERNO has become a pilgrimage destination for extreme metal fans worldwide, drawing attendees from North America, Japan, and across Europe to the Norwegian capital for a four-day immersion in black metal, death metal, and everything in between. The festival is notable for its commitment to underground acts alongside established names, providing a genuine platform for the genre's next wave.

Tickets for individual days and full festival passes are available via the official Inferno Festival website at infernofestival.no.
