MELVINS and NAPALM DEATH Release Collaborative Album "Savage Imperial Death March"

Two of heavy music's most uncompromising forces — MELVINS and NAPALM DEATH — are releasing their collaborative full-length Savage Imperial Death March on April 10 via Ipecac Recordings. Originally issued as a limited tour-only release during the bands' 2025 co-headlining run of the same name, the record now receives a wide release expanded with two additional tracks, bringing the total to eight brutally conceived cuts.

This is a genuine collaboration: all members — Buzz Osborne (vocals/guitar), Dale Crover (drums), Barney Greenway (vocals), Shane Embury (bass), and John Cooke (guitar) — appear on every track. The result is something that sounds unmistakably like both bands simultaneously: the dense, downtuned, crushing sludge of MELVINS colliding with the blastbeat-driven grindcore velocity of NAPALM DEATH. It shouldn't work as cleanly as it does — and yet it is one of the most cohesive collaborative records either band has been involved in.

The record was captured live to tape at the MELVINS' Los Angeles studio. No click tracks. No second-guessing. The rawness is intentional and the result is electric.

  1. Tossing Coins Into The Fountain Of Fuck
