SAVATAGE to Release Rare 1990 Live Album 'Madness Reigns From The Gutter' in June

Classic American power metal act SAVATAGE have announced the release of 'Madness Reigns From The Gutter (1990)', a previously unreleased live recording capturing the band during their iconic 'Rulin' Gutter' tour — the run of shows that followed their landmark 'Gutter Ballet' album. The record arrives via earMUSIC on June 26, 2026 in Europe and September 18, 2026 in the United States, available on CD digipak, triple gatefold vinyl, and digital formats.

Fully restored and newly mixed and mastered from the original master tapes, the 19-track live album documents the classic 1990 lineup in full force: Jon Oliva (vocals, keyboards), the late Criss Oliva (guitar, vocals), Chris Caffery (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Johnny Lee Middleton (bass, vocals), and Steve "Doc" Wacholz (drums). The inclusion of Criss Oliva — who tragically died in a road accident in 1993 — makes this a deeply historic document of a band at their creative peak.

The 19-song setlist spans the band's catalogue and includes SAVATAGE cornerstones such as 'Gutter Ballet', 'Hall Of The Mountain King', 'White Witch', 'Legions', and 'Devastation'.

The release coincides with SAVATAGE's ongoing 'Prelude To Madness' European reunion tour, featuring the current lineup of vocalist Zak Stevens, guitarists Al Pitrelli and Chris Caffery, bassist Johnny Lee Middleton, and drummer Jeff Plate. After decades of inactivity, SAVATAGE's return has been one of the most celebrated events in the heavy metal world.
