American death metal legends SIX FEET UNDER have unveiled "Mutilated Corpse In The Woods," the newest single and lyric video from their forthcoming fifteenth album Next To Die, due April 24 via Metal Blade Records.
Guitarist Jack Owen explains the track's origins: "This song started when my wife and I were in an antique store and she found an amber quartz pendant — a Rutilated Quartz. The chorus came easy. The verses were from a true crime show where a woman described being attacked by an assailant who tied her to a tree and slit her throat. She couldn't speak or scream. In real life she survived; in this song she did not."

Next To Die was produced by Owen and vocalist Chris Barnes, mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis at MRL Studios in Nashville. Barnes tracked his vocals at the legendary Criteria Recording Studios in Miami. The album — the band's fifteenth since 1995's Haunted — follows 2024's Killing For Revenge and is the third record Barnes and Owen have created together since reuniting in 2017. Cover art is by Sandy Rezalmi.
The record arrives on CD, digital, and vinyl in multiple color variants including Blood Splatter and limited Bone White Green Splatter editions. Pre-orders at metalblade.com/sixfeetunder.
SIX FEET UNDER hit European stages in June with EMBRYONIC AUTOPSY, then launch a North American headlining run in July with KATAKLYSM and WORMHOLE.
