Swedish death metal veterans VOMITORY have unleashed their tenth full-length album, "In Death Throes", today via Metal Blade Records. The album arrives three years after the band's critically acclaimed 2023 comeback effort "All Heads Are Gonna Roll" and wastes no time demonstrating that VOMITORY have lost none of their ferocity in the interim.
If anything, "In Death Throes" pushes the intensity even higher. Drummer Tobias Gustafsson described the record succinctly: "It picks up where 'All Heads Are Gonna Roll' left off, but we've turned the intensity up a notch." The result is a ten-track battering ram of Swedish death metal that channels everything from their genre-defining 1990s peers to a hungry, modern brutality all their own.
The lead single "For Gore And Country" was shared ahead of release and gave listeners an early taste of the album's relentless pace and the band's characteristic buzzsaw guitar tone. Other standout tracks include the blistering opener "Rapture In Rupture", the groove-driven "Wrath Unbound", and the album's epic closer "Oblivion Protocol".
The full tracklist reads: Rapture In Rupture, For Gore And Country, Forever Scorned, Wrath Unbound, In Death Throes, Cataclysmic Fleshfront, Two And A Half Men, Erased In Red, The Zombie War General, and Oblivion Protocol.
VOMITORY stand as one of the most consistent acts in Swedish death metal, and "In Death Throes" is further proof that their second act is no mere nostalgia trip — it is a vital, thunderous statement of ongoing relevance.
