The ten-year wait is over. ANTHRAX have announced their twelfth studio album, Cursum Perficio, due September 18, 2026 via Megaforce Records (North America) and Nuclear Blast (Europe). The lead single and accompanying music video, "It's For The Kids," dropped on May 15 — and it is everything ANTHRAX fans have been waiting for.
Produced by Jay Ruston at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California, the track hits hard from the first bar: buzzsaw-sharp riffs, Charlie Benante's explosive drumming, and Joey Belladonna in commanding form.
The album title carries weight: Cursum Perficio is a Latin phrase inscribed on a crest at Marilyn Monroe's Brentwood home. Often misread as "My journey ends," it more accurately translates as "I will persevere" or "I am completing my journey" — a resonant sentiment for a band returning after a decade.
Eleven tracks are confirmed: "Persistence Of Memory," "The Long Goodbye," "It's For The Kids," "Everybody's Got A Plan," "The Edge Of Perfection," "Infectious," "NYC93," "Cursum Perficio," "T.O.M.B.," "Watch It Go," and "My Victory."
Scott Ian: "All of that energy and emotion went into the music." Frank Bello: "We're hungrier than ever. From here on out, we're going full throttle." Charlie Benante: "This album is a culmination of everything we've learned."
ANTHRAX's twelfth album lands September 18. Set your calendars.
