MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH frontman Chad Gray brought his "30 Years Of Madness" solo concert series to The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan on May 26, delivering a fan-filmed performance that confirms the project is one of the more compelling live ventures in the nu-metal and groove metal space right now.

Gray launched the solo series in April 2026 after MUDVAYNE — who spent four consecutive years touring and recording following their high-profile reunion — collectively decided to take the year off. For Gray, sitting out was simply not an option.

"I'm 54 fucking years old. I'm not taking a year off," Gray said with characteristic bluntness, adding that performing is simply how he is "wired." Rather than go dormant, he assembled a tight live band drawing from both his musical homes: Christian Brady and Nick Villarreal from HELLYEAH, alongside Marcus Raffety, who serves as MUDVAYNE's touring guitarist, plus Devin Attard on drums and Joe Bonasorte on guitar.

The "30 Years Of Madness" format allows Gray to pull from across his entire catalogue — spanning MUDVAYNE's era-defining L.D. 50 debut through to their more recent work, as well as material from HELLYEAH, which has been largely dormant since early 2020.

The Machine Shop is a legendary Flint venue with deep roots in the regional heavy music scene, and it made for an appropriately intimate setting for a show built on personal history and genuine connection between performer and audience. Fan-filmed footage from the night circulating online underscores Gray's undiminished intensity as a frontman — the voice remains commanding, the delivery as ferocious as ever.

Further "30 Years Of Madness" dates are expected through the summer and fall months.
