FLAT EARTH, the Helsinki, Finland-based rock band featuring former HIM guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindstrom, ex-AMORPHIS bassist Niclas Etelävuori, vocalist/guitarist Anttoni "Anthony" Pikkarainen (POLANSKI), and drummer Mikko Herranen, has released a new single, "1985".
The band describes the song as an exploration of memory and time: "1985 is about what we take with us. The people, moments and emotions that stay with us through the years." Sonically, the track balances heavy guitar work with strong melodic sensibility and 90s grunge-influenced production.
Webshop purchases include an exclusive bonus track, "Below My Floor", recorded during earlier sessions with former drummer Wille Grano.
FLAT EARTH formed after Etelävuori departed AMORPHIS, built around unreleased material he had accumulated. The band released their debut album "None For One" in 2018, followed by "High On Lies" in 2022. "1985" continues a run of singles including a NIRVANA cover and the tracks "Into The Blue", "Cyberain", and "Holy".
