Dallas, Texas death metal heavyweights FROZEN SOUL dropped their third full-length album No Place Of Warmth today via Century Media Records. One of the most anticipated extreme metal releases of 2026, the record has already earned a 9/10 from Blabbermouth reviewer Dom Lawson, who called it "mercilessly heavy, ruthlessly precise and bulging with hooks, heart and hostility."
The title track features a remarkable guest appearance by GERARD WAY of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE — a collaboration that caught many fans off-guard but works powerfully within the song's concept. Vocalist Chad Green explained the track is "about life at its coldest and the choice you have to let it consume you, or to use it to find warmth in a world that feels void of it." Equally brutal is "Invoke War," which showcases ROBB FLYNN of MACHINE HEAD alongside FROZEN SOUL's trademark glacial attack.
The eleven-track record was produced by Josh Schroeder, recorded over six weeks in Michigan. The band drew consciously from classic death metal pillars — OBITUARY, CARCASS, and the Tampa death metal school — while injecting the memorable, hook-driven songwriting that has defined their rise since their debut Crypt of Ice in 2021.
Green described the creative philosophy simply: "Stop overthinking it and trying to write the most epic song." That restraint pays off across the album's relentless forty-minute runtime, confirming FROZEN SOUL among the very best in contemporary death metal.
